Maggots

Here is a story from Jakki that was quite well written and made for an interesting read. Because I’ve closed the comments on my “Killing Maggots” article, feel free to leave your own story as a comment below this one… —===— Your webpage was quite helpful in understanding a situation where I had a kitchen invasion of maggots. This is a summary: Our home is built on a concrete foundation. The maggots were found coming out of a 1/3 inch gap between a ceramic tile floor and drywall behind the oven. I will leave out all the drama behind finding the source. I...

Battle with the Frogs

In my quest to get rid of the frogs in my garden, I had a brainwave: They won’t stay if they HAVE nowhere TO stay! You may notice the frogs in the evenings, sitting under your porch light, or, if you’re unlucky like us, coming into your house. I’d have to guess the frogs are attracted to the light because that’s where all the insects are.Well, a couple of times I noticed the frogs coming out of the brickwork on the floor at a certain section of my garden. Getting rid of Mosquitos – an interesting attempt

I went to a restaurant the other day, and we sat outside. Very nice for a summer’s evening in South Africa. The only problem is that we tend to have mosquitoes. But at this restaurant we noticed that they had put bowls of Vinegar all over the place. Apparently it helps keep the mozzie population back outside and away from the vinegar. I’ve tried it, and it doesn’t seem to work TOO well, but if anybody has any other ideas for keeping mozzies at bay, PLEASE let me know… Share on...

Getting rid of frogs

Frogs are PESTS! I’m sorry, but as cute as they can be from far, from close up frogs are definitely just an annoyance. I have frogs that live in my garden and in the complex where I stay, but thankfully, I don’t have a swimming pool, so I don’t have frogs in my pool. But, you’re probably not here for any cute frog pictures or photos, I’m sure you’re here wondering how to get rid of frogs, right? Besides, to be honest, these are ugly frogs, and are probably actually toads, as some people in the comments have pointed out. Here are some reasons why I hate...
